Ever heard of the Great Commission? It's the instruction Jesus gave the disciples telling them to teach all nations about Him. That's why we have a Missions Ministry. Under the direction of Director Barbara Burk, the ministry supports specific missionaries and groups, both local and global, to help spread the gospel of Christ.
Even if you can't go to all nations, there are things you can do:
Take a course. Learn about other cultures and how to share your faith with them.
Go on a short-term missions trip. Opportunities ranging from a few days to a few weeks are offered each year, often in impoverished areas where messages of hope and God's love are especially needed.
Go on a long-term missions trip. For those who feel called, there are opportunities to spend six months to a year in places where the gospel is little known.
Pray. You can join a group that prays for specific missionaries and countries around the globe. Or you can pray on your own for a missionary family, asking God's blessing on their ministry and safety.
Give. If you can't go, you can still give. Contribute online or in service to various missionaries and mission projects. A different one is mentioned the first Sunday of each month, and a special missions offering is taken at that time.
