Now that you know when and where, here's some of what you might expect when you visit Westover Hills.

Praise and worship is how we start every service. Guests often ask what style of worship music we play. There isn't a perfect word for it, except maybe non-traditional. You'll hear drums, guitar, violins, big band brass. Sometimes it sounds like rock, soul, or hip-hop. Some songs even have a Latin flair, but the purpose is always the same — our choir and orchestra desire to lead each person into a personal experience with God, that's why we offer a time of prayer during worship.

Following worship and offering, Pastor Jim shares Biblical principles that you can apply to your everyday life. A visual person, Pastor Jim is fond of using different methods, such as props and videos, to communicate the message. Recent topics include authentic Christianity (living what you believe), enjoying the first-rate life God wants for you and the benefits of joining a small group. An opportunity to visit the altar often follows the sermon. It's not only for the person accepting Jesus for the first time, but also for those who feel moved by the message and desire personal time with God.

Pastor Jim's hope is that "every child receive everything God has for them every time they visit." In order to do that, we insist that kids participate in classes designed specifically for them. We have two full-time pastors who are devoted to Kids Ministry, teaching the Bible in fun, age-appropriate ways to infants through fifth grade. We know leaving your child somewhere new might be scary on your first visit — for you and for them — so you're welcome to attend Kids Church with them until you're both comfortable.
If you have children, plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early in order to register them using our Parent Pager system, which allows us to keep track of all children in our care, and gives us a way to contact you.
If you find it necessary to keep your infant with you, a glass-enclosed portion of the Worship Center, called the Wiggle Giggle Room, is the perfect place to sit. There is also a Cry Room when you need it, and a private Nursing Room for mothers only.
After service be sure to visit The Loft, where you can enjoy light refreshments and meet one of the staff pastors who will invite you to lunch on us. The Loft and Lunch with the Pastor are some of the ways we give individual attention to the many guests who pass through our doors. Pastor Jim likes to say everyone has a story, and we'd like to hear yours. Here's our story.
